Our team has extensive experience of acting for domestic and international commodity producers, purchasers, traders, industrial end-users, carriers and financial institutions on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, including, sale and/or purchase of various commodities including oil, gas, metals, coal, chemicals, renewables and agricultural products.

We handle all types of commodities and international trade disputes, such as disputes relating to quality, delivery schedules, force majeure claims, charter-party conflict, cargo claim, marine cargo insurance, demurrage, trade finance, sanctions, logistics, trade insurance and fraud.

We regularly represent clients in the Malaysian and Singapore Courts (including the Singapore International Commercial Court) and before domestic and international arbitral tribunals. We have experience with complex and high-value commodities and international trade arbitrations under all of the major arbitration rules, including Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and in connection with trade association arbitrations such as GAFTA, FOSFA and PORAM. We also handle arbitration-related Court proceedings, obtaining urgent interim measures or relief, mareva injunctions, ship arrests, including the setting aside and enforcement of domestic and international arbitral awards.
